Well, it happened. After months and months – actually a couple of years. My countdown has hit zero and I’ve reached the end of my invisalign treatment… Or so I thought.
Right now, I’m at the end of my first round of ‘refinements’ and I’m allowed a few more if I want to make further changes. I’m actually pretty happy with the result. Looking back at how my teeth were at the start of this thing, I can definitely see a real improvement.

You may have noticed, dear reader, that my smile countdown has re-started and is now an “Arbitrary Event” countdown. Well I suppose I should explain…
After another round of dental impressions, I now have a new set of invisalign aligners. This set will run up until November and are only to mike some fine adjustments to my already significantly improved smile. I have three attachments this time around and I’m already looking forward to the end of this whole story, which is a subtle way of saying I have a mouth full of tooth-ache again. Oh well, at least it’s only short this time.
Let’s hope this is the last countdown update I have to do – only 6 months, 4 days, 2 hours and 20 minutes to go!
So today is the day, those attachments are coming off my teeth and I’m finally going to see my new smile unhindered for the first time.
I’m a little concerned that my bite is a bit uncomfortable when I’m not wearing the aligners at the moment. But I’m hoping that things will straighten up and feel better once the attachments are off.
Regrettably, we’re going to be making more dental mouldings as well and, you may recall, making dental mouldings is a thoroughly unpleasant experience. However we’ll be sending these moulds off to invisalign to see if my bite can be further improved, including fixing one tooth which hasn’t rotated all the way.
Nervous? I am.
